जना॑य चि॒द्य ईव॑त उ लो॒कं बृह॒स्पति॑र्दे॒वहू॑तौ च॒कार॑। घ्नन्वृ॒त्राणि॒ वि पुरो॑ दर्दरीति॒ जय॒ञ्छत्रूँ॑र॒मित्रा॑न्पृ॒त्सु साह॑न् ॥२॥
janāya cid ya īvata u lokam bṛhaspatir devahūtau cakāra | ghnan vṛtrāṇi vi puro dardarīti jayañ chatrūm̐r amitrān pṛtsu sāhan ||
जना॑य। चि॒त्। यः। ईव॑ते। ऊँ॒ इति॑। लो॒कम्। बृह॒स्पतिः॑। दे॒वऽहू॑तौ। च॒कार॑। घ्नन्। वृ॒त्राणि॑। वि। पुरः॑। द॒र्द॒री॒ति॒। जय॑न्। शत्रू॑न्। अ॒मित्रा॑न्। पृ॒त्ऽसु। साह॑न् ॥२॥
स्वामी दयानन्द सरस्वती
फिर उस राजा को कैसे सेना के अधिकारी करने चाहियें, इस विषय को कहते हैं ॥

पुनस्तेन राज्ञा कीदृशाः सेनाधिकारिणः कार्या इत्याह ॥
हे मनुष्या ! यो देवहूतौ बृहस्पतिरिव ईवते जनाय लोकं प्रकाशितं चकार पृत्सु साहन्नमित्राञ्जयञ्छत्रून् घ्नन् वृत्राणि प्राप्नुवन् पुरो वि दर्दरीति स उ चित्सेनापतिर्भवितुमर्हति ॥२॥

What kind of Commanders of army should be appointed by the king- is told.
O men! that person alone is fit to be the commander of an army, who when the enlightened persons, call him, like the solar world, illuminates happiness or place that is worth seeing for the man who approaches him, who putting up with the foes conquering and killing his enemies, and gaining wealth (by conquest) demolishes various cities of the adversaries.
