स मा॒तरा॒ सूर्ये॑णा कवी॒नामवा॑सयद्रु॒जदद्रिं॑ गृणा॒नः। स्वा॒धीभि॒र्ऋक्व॑भिर्वावशा॒न उदु॒स्रिया॑णामसृजन्नि॒दान॑म् ॥२॥
sa mātarā sūryeṇā kavīnām avāsayad rujad adriṁ gṛṇānaḥ | svādhībhir ṛkvabhir vāvaśāna ud usriyāṇām asṛjan nidānam ||
सः। मा॒तरा॑। सूर्ये॑ण। क॒वी॒नाम्। अवा॑सयत्। रु॒जत्। अद्रि॑म्। गृ॒णा॒नः। सु॒ऽआ॒धीभिः॑। ऋक्व॑ऽभिः। वा॒व॒शा॒नः। उत्। उ॒स्रिया॑णाम्। अ॒सृ॒ज॒त्। नि॒ऽदान॑म् ॥२॥

हे मनुष्या ! यथा सूर्येणा सहितो विद्युदग्निरद्रिं रुजत् कवीनां च मातराऽवासयत् तथैव स्वाधीभिर्ऋक्वभिस्सह गृणानो वावशानो यथा सवितोस्रियाणां निदानमिव निदानमुदसृजत् स राजा सर्वैः सत्कर्त्तव्यः ॥२॥

The duties of an enlightened persons-is told.
O men ! as lightning along with the sun rends asunder the cloud and makes the father and mother of the wise poets dwell in happiness, in the same manner, a king praising with well planned and admirable policies and desiring the welfare of all, creates confidence among his subjects like the sun among the rays. Such a ruler should be respected by all.
