इन्द्र॑मि॒वेदु॒भये॒ वि ह्व॑यन्त उ॒दीरा॑णा य॒ज्ञमु॑पप्र॒यन्तः॑। द॒धि॒क्रामु॒ सूद॑नं॒ मर्त्या॑य द॒दथु॑र्मित्रावरुणा नो॒ अश्व॑म् ॥५॥
indram ived ubhaye vi hvayanta udīrāṇā yajñam upaprayantaḥ | dadhikrām u sūdanam martyāya dadathur mitrāvaruṇā no aśvam ||
इन्द्र॑म्ऽइव। इत्। उ॒भये॑। वि। ह्व॒य॒न्ते॒। उ॒त्ऽईरा॑णाः। य॒ज्ञम्। उ॒प॒ऽप्र॒यन्तः॑। द॒धि॒ऽक्राम्। ऊ॒म् इति॑। सूद॑नम्। मर्त्या॑य। द॒दथुः॑। मि॒त्रा॒व॒रु॒णा॒। नः॒। अश्व॑म् ॥५॥

अथ राजप्रजाकृत्यमाह ॥
हे मित्रावरुणा ! य उदीराणा यज्ञमुपप्रयन्त उभये मर्त्याय नोऽस्मभ्यं च दधिक्रां सूदनमश्वं च वि ह्वयन्ते तानुत्तमान् पदार्थान् युवां ददथुस्ताविन्द्रमिवेदु कृतज्ञौ स्यातम् ॥५॥

The duties of the king and his subjects are told.
O King and Prime Minister ! you are like the Prana and Udana, you give those good things which are admired by all exalted officers of the State and people; they perform Yajna or just dealings for the good of men. They desire the upholders of justice, the flow of the nectar of devotion and good know- ledge which soon confers happiness. Be grateful to the benefactors of humanity, as men are comparable to electricity (which accomplishes so many purposes).
