ऋ॒भुर्विभ्वा॒ वाज॒ इन्द्रो॑ नो॒ अच्छे॒मं य॒ज्ञं र॑त्न॒धेयोप॑ यात। इ॒दा हि वो॑ धि॒षणा॑ दे॒व्यह्ना॒मधा॑त्पी॒तिं सं मदा॑ अग्मता वः ॥१॥
ṛbhur vibhvā vāja indro no acchemaṁ yajñaṁ ratnadheyopa yāta | idā hi vo dhiṣaṇā devy ahnām adhāt pītiṁ sam madā agmatā vaḥ ||
ऋभुः। विऽभ्वा॑। वाजः॑। इन्द्रः॑। नः॒। अच्छ॑। इ॒मम्। य॒ज्ञम्। र॒त्न॒ऽधेया॑। उप॑। या॒त॒। इ॒दा। हि। वः॒। धि॒षणा॑। दे॒वी। अह्ना॑म्। अधा॑त्। पी॒तिम्। सम्। मदाः॑। अ॒ग्म॒त॒। वः॒ ॥१॥
स्वामी दयानन्द सरस्वती
अब ग्यारह ऋचावाले चौतीसवें सूक्त का आरम्भ है, उसके प्रथम मन्त्र में मेधावी बुद्धिमान् के गुणों को कहते हैं ॥

अथ मेधाविगुणानाह ॥
यथा मदा वः समग्मत यथा हि देवी धिषणाह्नां पीतिमधाद् विद्वांसो यूयं रत्नधेयेमं यज्ञमुप यात तथेदा वाज इन्द्र ऋभुर्विभ्वा नो वोऽच्छायातु ॥१॥

The attributes of genius persons is described.
All of you should act in such a way that maximum delight is secured by all, and the noble wisdom should be adorned during the course of drinking of Soma periodically. In order to attain this, O genius persons! you should perform the Yajna aimed at intensification of learning and wisdom. Enlightened and prosperous you divine intelligent persons should come to us nicely with the guidance provided by genius persons and through the Grace of God.
