तमिन्नरो॒ वि ह्व॑यन्ते समी॒के रि॑रि॒क्वांस॑स्त॒न्वः॑ कृण्वत॒ त्राम्। मि॒थो यत्त्या॒गमु॒भया॑सो॒ अग्म॒न्नर॑स्तो॒कस्य॒ तन॑यस्य सा॒तौ ॥३॥
tam in naro vi hvayante samīke ririkvāṁsas tanvaḥ kṛṇvata trām | mitho yat tyāgam ubhayāso agman naras tokasya tanayasya sātau ||
तम्। इत्। नरः॑। वि। ह्व॒य॒न्ते॒। स॒म्ऽई॒के। रि॒रि॒क्वांसः॑। त॒न्वः॑। कृ॒ण्व॒त॒। त्राम्। मि॒थः। यत्। त्या॒गम्। उ॒भया॑सः। अग्म॑न्। नरः॑। तो॒कस्य॑। तन॑यस्य। सा॒तौ ॥३॥

फिर उसी विषय को अगले मन्त्र में कहते हैं ॥
हरिशरण सिद्धान्तालंकार
परस्पर त्याग से उत्तम सन्तान की प्राप्ति

पुनस्तमेव विषयमाह ॥
हे रिरिक्वांसो नरः ! समीके यद्यं विद्वांसो वि ह्वयन्ते तमिदेव तन्वस्त्रां कृण्वत। हे नरस्तोकस्य तनयस्य साता उभयासो दुःखस्य त्यागङ्कुर्वन्तो मिथः शत्रून् घ्नन्तोऽग्मँस्तान् सेवध्वम् ॥३॥

The outcome of study of military science is stated.
O leading men ! keeping away your selves and others from all evils, it is Indra (Prosperous king or Commander-in-Chief of the army) whom all learned persons invoke in the battles. You also make him the preserver of your bodies. O leaders of the State! serve those persons, both officers and the people, in the task of preservation of wealth for the sake of already born infants and grown up children by alleviating their sufferings, and destroying the enemies attacking you.
