नाहमतो॒ निर॑या दु॒र्गहै॒तत्ति॑र॒श्चता॑ पा॒र्श्वान्निर्ग॑माणि। ब॒हूनि॑ मे॒ अकृ॑ता॒ कर्त्वा॑नि॒ युध्यै॑ त्वेन॒ सं त्वे॑न पृच्छै ॥२॥
nāham ato nir ayā durgahaitat tiraścatā pārśvān nir gamāṇi | bahūni me akṛtā kartvāni yudhyai tvena saṁ tvena pṛcchai ||
न। अ॒हम्। अतः॑। निः। अ॒य॒। दुः॒ऽगहा॑। ए॒तत्। ति॒र॒श्चता॑। पा॒र्श्वात्। निः। ग॒मा॒नि॒। ब॒हूनि॑। मे॒। अकृ॑ता। कर्त्वा॑नि। युध्यै॑। त्वे॒न॒। सम्। त्वे॒न॒। पृ॒च्छै॒ ॥२॥

फिर दृष्टान्त से पूर्वोक्त विषय को अगले मन्त्र में कहते हैं ॥

पुनर्दृष्टान्तेन पूर्वोक्तमाह ॥
हे विद्वन् ! यथाऽहं दुर्गहा न भवेयं पार्श्वान्निर्गमाणि मे बहून्यकृता कर्त्वानि कर्माणि सन्ति तिरश्चता त्वेन युध्यै त्वेन सम्पृच्छै तथात्वमत एतन्निरय ॥२॥

The guidelines for a noble man are laid.
O learned person! let me not destroy the difficult paths of Dharma. Let me go from the right side, (not transgressing the path of Dharma or duty). There are many duties which I have not yet discharged, that is, let me discharge them. Let me fight with a man who goes astray or acts unjustly. Let me ask a wiseman about my duties (when I am in doubt). You should also do so and turn away from the path of un-righteousness.
