अ॒यं शृ॑ण्वे॒ अध॒ जय॑न्नु॒त घ्नन्न॒यमु॒त प्र कृ॑णुते यु॒धा गाः। य॒दा स॒त्यं कृ॑णु॒ते म॒न्युमिन्द्रो॒ विश्वं॑ दृ॒ळ्हं भ॑यत॒ एज॑दस्मात् ॥१०॥
ayaṁ śṛṇve adha jayann uta ghnann ayam uta pra kṛṇute yudhā gāḥ | yadā satyaṁ kṛṇute manyum indro viśvaṁ dṛḻham bhayata ejad asmāt ||
अ॒यम्। शृ॒ण्वे। अध॑। जय॑न्। उ॒त। घ्नन्। अ॒यम्। उ॒त। प्र। कृ॒णु॒ते॒। यु॒धा। गाः। य॒दा। स॒॒त्यम्। कृ॒णु॒ते। म॒न्युम्। इन्द्रः॑। विश्व॑म्। दृ॒ळ्हम्। भ॒य॒ते॒। एज॑त्। अ॒स्मा॒त् ॥१०॥

अब राजा को राज्य करने का प्रकार अगले मन्त्र में कहते हैं ॥

हे राजन् ! सुपरीक्ष्य वृतोऽयं जनः शत्रून् घ्नन्नुतापि युधा जयन् गाः प्र कृणुते उत यमहं राज्यं कर्त्तुं शृण्वे यदाऽयं सत्यं कृणुते तदा विश्वं दृळ्हं भवति यदाऽयमिन्द्रो मन्युं कृणुतेऽध तदास्माद्विश्वं दृढमपि राज्यमेजत् सद्भयते ॥१०॥

How should a king rule over the State is stated?
O king ! when you are appointed on a post after full test, you annihilate enemies or conquer them in the battle and preserve the land belonging to the State. Such a king, possesses great wealth, and about his reputation I hear so much. When he takes a true vow, all becomes firm and when he incurs wrath or righteous indignation, then all, that is stationary or mobile, begin to tremble with fear.
