इ॒मे इ॑न्द्र भर॒तस्य॑ पु॒त्रा अ॑पपि॒त्वं चि॑कितु॒र्न प्र॑पि॒त्वम्। हि॒न्वन्त्यश्व॒मर॑णं॒ न नित्यं॒ ज्या॑वाजं॒ परि॑ णयन्त्या॒जौ॥
ima indra bharatasya putrā apapitvaṁ cikitur na prapitvam | hinvanty aśvam araṇaṁ na nityaṁ jyāvājam pari ṇayanty ājau ||
इ॒मे। इ॒न्द्र॒। भ॒र॒तस्य॑। पु॒त्राः। अ॒प॒ऽपि॒त्वम्। चि॒कि॒तुः॒। न। प्र॒ऽपि॒त्वम्। हि॒न्वन्ति॑। अश्व॑म्। अर॑णम्। न। नित्य॑म्। ज्या॒ऽवाज॑म्। परि॑। न॒य॒न्ति॒। आ॒जौ॥

हे इन्द्र ! तव सेनाया भरतस्य चिकितुर्न य इमे पुत्रा इवाऽपपित्वं प्रपित्वमश्वमरणं न हिन्वन्त्याजौ ज्यावाजं नित्यं परिणयन्ति ताँश्च त्वं स्वात्मवद्रक्ष ॥२४॥

O Indra (tool of great prosperity)! these attendants of mine who are like the trained sons of the learned commander and are upholder of your army know the ups and downs of the life. When they are in the battle-field, when they are hear the sound of a bow string of the foe, they urge their steads to proceed in that direction. You should protect and safeguard them like yourselves.
