स॒जोषा॑ इन्द्र॒ सग॑णो म॒रुद्भिः॒ सोमं॑ पिब वृत्र॒हा शू॑र वि॒द्वान्। ज॒हि शत्रूँ॒रप॒ मृधो॑ नुद॒स्वाथाभ॑यं कृणुहि वि॒श्वतो॑ नः॥
sajoṣā indra sagaṇo marudbhiḥ somam piba vṛtrahā śūra vidvān | jahi śatrūm̐r apa mṛdho nudasvāthābhayaṁ kṛṇuhi viśvato naḥ ||
स॒ऽजोषाः॑। इ॒न्द्र॒। सऽग॑णः। म॒रुत्ऽभिः॑। सोम॑म्। पि॒ब॒। वृ॒त्र॒ऽहा। शू॒र॒। वि॒द्वान्। ज॒हि। शत्रू॑न्। अप॑। मृधः॑। नु॒द॒स्व॒। अथ॑। अभ॑यम्। कृ॒णु॒हि॒। वि॒श्वतः॑। नः॒॥

हे शूरेन्द्र राजन् ! मरुद्भिः सगणो वृत्रहा सूर्य्य इव सजोषाः सगणो मरुद्भिः सह विद्वान् सोमं पिब शत्रूनप जहि मृधो नुदस्वाथ विश्वतो नोऽभयं कृणुहि ॥२॥

The duties of rulers are elaborated.
O Indra (king, causer of prosperity) ! rejoicing with and accompanied by the group of heroes, you are radiant mighty like the winds, like the Sun and know all sciences. Those heroes drink the Soma (juice of invigorating herbs plants etc.) You are the slayer of the wicked enemies as the Sun is of the clouds. Kill all the enemies and drive away the malevolent enemy fighting with them in the battles and make us safe and fearless from all sides.
