इन्द्रं॑ म॒तिर्हृ॒द आ व॒च्यमा॒नाच्छा॒ पतिं॒ स्तोम॑तष्टा जिगाति। या जागृ॑विर्वि॒दथे॑ श॒स्यमा॒नेन्द्र॒ यत्ते॒ जाय॑ते वि॒द्धि तस्य॑॥
indram matir hṛda ā vacyamānācchā patiṁ stomataṣṭā jigāti | yā jāgṛvir vidathe śasyamānendra yat te jāyate viddhi tasya ||
इन्द्र॑म्। म॒तिः। हृ॒दः। आ। व॒च्यमा॑ना। अच्छ॑। पति॑म्। स्तोम॑ऽतष्टा। जि॒गा॒ति॒। या। जागृ॑विः। वि॒दथे॑। श॒स्यमा॑ना। इन्द्र॑। यत्। ते॒। जाय॑ते। वि॒द्धि। तस्य॑॥
स्वामी दयानन्द सरस्वती
अब नव ऋचावाले तीसरे मण्डल में उनतालीसवें सूक्त का आरम्भ है। उसके प्रथम मन्त्र में विद्वान् के विषय को कहते हैं।

अथ विद्वद्विषयमाह।
हे इन्द्र विद्वन् ! या वच्यमाना विदथे जागृविः शस्यमाना स्तोमतष्टा मतिर्हृद इन्द्रं पतिमच्छा जिगाति यद्या प्रज्ञा ते जायते तथा तस्य शुभगुणकर्मस्वभावान् विद्धि ॥१॥

The attributes and duties of the Enlighted persons are told.
O Indra (learned person blessed with the wealth of wisdom)! the prayers full of wisdom and prompted from the heart, are receptive to the true knowledge. These prayers praised extensively proceed to God, Who is the Lord of the World and imports great delight. With whatever wisdom at your disposal, try to know the noble attributes, actions and nature of the Lord. (Try also to know the virtues of all masters and persons with whom you come into contact).
