उद्वृ॑ह॒ रक्षः॑ स॒हमू॑लमिन्द्र वृ॒श्चा मध्यं॒ प्रत्यग्रं॑ शृणीहि। आ कीव॑तः सल॒लूकं॑ चकर्थ ब्रह्म॒द्विषे॒ तपु॑षिं हे॒तिम॑स्य॥
ud vṛha rakṣaḥ sahamūlam indra vṛścā madhyam praty agraṁ śṛṇīhi | ā kīvataḥ salalūkaṁ cakartha brahmadviṣe tapuṣiṁ hetim asya ||
उत्। वृ॒ह॒। रक्षः॑। स॒हऽमू॑लम्। इ॒न्द्र॒। वृ॒श्च। मध्य॑म्। प्रति॑। अग्र॑म्। शृ॒णी॒हि॒। आ। कीव॑तः। स॒ल॒लूक॑म्। च॒क॒र्थ॒। ब्र॒ह्म॒ऽद्विषे॑। तपु॑षिम्। हे॒तिम्। अ॒स्य॒॥

हे इन्द्र ! त्वमुद्वृह सहमूलं रक्षो वृश्चास्योपरि तपुषिं हेतिं प्रक्षिप्यास्य मध्यमग्रं च प्रतिशृणीहि ब्रह्मद्विषे वर्त्तमानं सललूकं कीवतश्चाऽऽचकर्थ ॥१७॥

The same subject of functions of the rulers is continued.
O Indra ! you are destroyer of the wicked, root up the wicked persons, cut asunder and crush them in the middle and send them away. Cast upon those who hate God and the Vedas (knowledge)-the powerful weapon. Punish severely and exceedingly the greedy wicked persons, whatever may be their number.
