अश्व॒स्यात्र॒ जनि॑मा॒स्य च॒ स्व॑र्द्रु॒हो रि॒षः सं॒पृचः॑ पाहि सू॒रीन्। आ॒मासु॑ पू॒र्षु प॒रो अ॑प्रमृ॒ष्यं नारा॑तयो॒ वि न॑श॒न्नानृ॑तानि॥
aśvasyātra janimāsya ca svar druho riṣaḥ sampṛcaḥ pāhi sūrīn | āmāsu pūrṣu paro apramṛṣyaṁ nārātayo vi naśan nānṛtāni ||
अश्व॑स्य। अत्र॑। जनि॑म। अ॒स्य। च॒। स्वः॑। द्रु॒हः। रि॒षः। स॒म्ऽपृचः॑। पा॒हि॒। सू॒रीन्। आ॒मासु॑। पू॒र्षु। प॒रः। अ॒प्र॒ऽमृ॒ष्यम्। न। अरा॑तयः। वि। न॒श॒न्। न। अनृ॑तानि॥

अथ विद्वद्विषयमाह।
यतोऽत्राऽस्याऽश्वस्य जनिम भवति तस्मादत्र स्वर्वर्द्धते यः परस्त्वमामासु पूर्षु द्रुहो रिषः संपृचः सूरीनप्रमृष्यं च पाहि त्वामरातयो न पीडयन्ति अनृतानि न विनशन् प्राप्नुवन्ति ॥६॥

The attributes and duties of the enlightened persons are told.
Where a mighty, virile great man is born, great joy erupts. Protect the pious and learned persons from the onslaughts of the violence of the oppressors whether abiding in their dwelling places or big cities. They are superior to you in every respect in wisdom or strength. Protect them from all that is humiliating. May not the foes ever approach you nor the untruth of the wicked persons.
