ज॒घ॒न्वाँ उ॒ हरि॑भिः संभृतक्रत॒विन्द्र॑ वृ॒त्रं मनु॑षे गातु॒यन्न॒पः। अय॑च्छथा बा॒ह्वोर्वज्र॑माय॒समधा॑रयो दि॒व्या सूर्यं॑ दृ॒शे ॥
jaghanvām̐ u haribhiḥ sambhṛtakratav indra vṛtram manuṣe gātuyann apaḥ | ayacchathā bāhvor vajram āyasam adhārayo divy ā sūryaṁ dṛśe ||
ज॒घ॒न्वान्। ऊँ॒ इति॑। हरि॑ऽभिः। स॒म्भृ॒त॒क्र॒तो॒ इति॑ सम्भृतऽक्रतो। इन्द्र॑। वृ॒त्रम्। मनु॑षे। गा॒तु॒ऽयन्। अ॒पः। अय॑च्छथाः। बा॒ह्वोः। वज्र॑म्। आ॒य॒सम्। अधा॑रयः। दि॒वि। आ। सूर्य॑म्। दृ॒शे ॥

फिर वह कैसा हो, यह विषय उपदेश अगले मन्त्र में कहा है ॥

पुनः स कीदृश इत्युपदिश्यते ॥
हे सम्भृतक्रतो इन्द्र सभेश ! त्वं यथा सविता हरिभिर्वृत्रं जघन्वानपो मनुषे गातुयन् प्रजा धरति तथा प्रजापालनाय बाह्वोरायसं वज्रमाधारयः समन्ताद् धारय सार्वजनिकसुखाय दिवि सूर्यं दृश इव न्यायविद्यार्कं प्रकाशय ॥ ८ ॥

O Indra (Intelligent President of the Assembly) performer of holy acts, as the sun slays the cloud with his rays and sustains the subjects by sending rainy water for mankind, in the same manner, thou shouldst take in thy hands the thunderbolt or powerful weapon of iron for the protection of thy subjects and for bringing about the welfare of the public, thou shouldst manifest the sun of justice like the material sun for all people to see.
