(या) यौ वक्ष्यमाणौ (नः) अस्मभ्यम् (पीपरत्) सुखैः पूरयेत्। अत्र लिङर्थे लुङडभावश्च। (अश्विना) सूर्य्याचन्द्रमसाविव सभासेनेशौ (ज्योतिष्मती) प्रशस्तानि ज्योतींषि विद्यन्ते यस्यां सा। अत्र सुपां सुलुग् इत्यमो लुक्। (तमः) रात्रिम्। तम इति रात्रिना० निघं० १।७। (तिरः) अन्तर्धाने (ताम्) (अस्मे) अस्माकम्। अत्र सुपाम् इति शे आदेशः। (रासाथाम्) दद्यातम् (इषम्) उत्तमगुणसंपादकमन्नाद्यौषध समूहम् ॥६॥
पुनः सूर्य्यचन्द्रवदश्विनौ किंकुरुतइत्युपदिश्यते।

O Ashvinau (the President of the Assembly and the Commander-in-chief of the army) As the light of sun and the moon dispels the darkness of the night and delights us all by creating the dawn or the white fortnight, so you should also dispel the darkness of ignorance from us and vouchsafe to us invigorating food and herbs full of strengthening good qualities.
