वि॒दुष्टे॑ अ॒स्य वी॒र्य॑स्य पू॒रव॒: पुरो॒ यदि॑न्द्र॒ शार॑दीर॒वाति॑रः सासहा॒नो अ॒वाति॑रः। शास॒स्तमि॑न्द्र॒ मर्त्य॒मय॑ज्युं शवसस्पते। म॒हीम॑मुष्णाः पृथि॒वीमि॒मा अ॒पो म॑न्दसा॒न इ॒मा अ॒पः ॥
viduṣ ṭe asya vīryasya pūravaḥ puro yad indra śāradīr avātiraḥ sāsahāno avātiraḥ | śāsas tam indra martyam ayajyuṁ śavasas pate | mahīm amuṣṇāḥ pṛthivīm imā apo mandasāna imā apaḥ ||

पुनः के किं कृत्वा किं कुर्युरित्याह ।
हे इन्द्र यथा पूरवस्ते तवाऽस्य वीर्यस्य पुरः प्रभावं विदुस्तथाऽन्येऽपि जानन्तु। यद्यः सासहानो जन इमाः शारदीरपोऽवातिरस्तथा त्वमपि जानीह्यवातिरश्च। हे शवसस्पत इन्द्र यथा त्वं यमयज्युं मर्त्यं शासः। यो मन्दसानो महीं पृथिवीं प्राप्य इमा अपः प्राणिनः पीडयेत्तं त्वममुष्णा वयमपि च शिष्याम ॥ ४ ॥

आचार्य धर्मदेव विद्या मार्तण्ड
O Indra (King or President of the Assembly or Council of ministers ), let all men know thy ancient power as good learned persons know it well. When O upholder of men, endowed with the power of endurance, thou destroyest the cities of the Rakshasas or wicked people, humiliating their defenders like the sun bringing down the waters in the autumn season. O Lord of strength, thou chastisest the man who does not perform Yajnas and other good acts. Thou takest away the right of rulership of the person who desiring wealth gives trouble to these living beings. May we also give such persons good teachings, so that they may refrain from doing such ignoble deeds.
