फिर मनुष्यों को क्या करना चाहिये, इस विषय को कहते हैं ॥
Word-Meaning: - हे (भारत) धारण करनेवाले (अजर) जरा दोष से रहित (अग्ने) विद्वन् ! आप (अजस्रेण) निरन्तर (द्युमत्) प्रकाशवाले को (दविद्युतत्) प्रकाशित करते हो, उसके लिये आप (उत्, शोचा) अत्यन्त प्रकाशित हूजिये और (वि, भाहि) विशेष करके प्रकाशित करिये ॥४५॥
Connotation: - जैसे ब्रह्माण्ड में सूर्य्य निरन्तर प्रकाशित होता है, वैसे ही विद्वान् जन सत्य व्यवहार में प्रकाशित हों ॥४५॥

दीप्त प्रभु हमें भी दीप्त करें
Word-Meaning: - [१] हे (अग्ने) = अग्रेणी (भारत) = हम सबका भरण करनेवाले प्रभो! आप (अजस्त्रेण) = निरन्तर (द्युमत्) = खूब ज्योति के साथ (दविद्युतत्) = ज्ञान दीप्ति से द्योतमान होते हुए (उत् शोच) = खूब ही दीप्त होइये । [२] हे अजर-कभी जीर्ण न होनेवाले प्रभो! आप (विभाहि) = विशिष्ट रूप से हमारे हृदयों को दीप्त करिये [अन्तर्भावितण्थर्योऽत्र भातिः] ।
Connotation: - भावार्थ- प्रभु अनुपम ज्योति से दीप्त हैं। वे हमारे अन्तःकरणों को दीप्त करें।

पुनर्मनुष्यैः किं कर्त्तव्यमित्याह ॥
Anvay:
हे भारताजराग्ने ! भवानजस्रेण द्युमद्दविद्युतत् तदर्थं त्वमुच्छोचा वि भाहि ॥४५॥
Word-Meaning: - (उत्) (अग्ने) विद्वन् (भारत) धर्त्तः (द्युमत्) प्रकाशवत् (अजस्रेण) निरन्तरेण (दविद्युतत्) द्योतयति (शोचा) अत्र द्व्यचोऽतस्तिङ इति दीर्घः। (वि) (भाहि) (अजर) जरादोषरहित ॥४५॥
Connotation: - यथा ब्रह्माण्डे सूर्य्यः सततं प्रकाशते तथैव विद्वांसः सत्यव्यवहारे प्रकाशयन्ताम् ॥४५॥

Word-Meaning: - Agni, unaging sustainer of life, shining with the light of excellence and blazing with glory, rise up with flames of fire and shine on with inexhaustible splendour, and help the shining people too to rise in the light of knowledge and excellence of life.

Anvay:
O upholder of noble virtues ! enlightened person free from the defects of old age, (energetic) and un-decaying, you illuminate constantly. Therefore shine forth and glean with the light of knowledge.
Word-Meaning: - N/A
Connotation: - As the sun shines and illumines constantly in the world, so the enlightened persons should illuminate all, in truthful conduct.
Footnote: Even Sayanacharya has explained भारत for Agni as हविषांभर्तः which Wilson has translated as 'the bearer of oblations' 'but Griffith has very erroneously translated it as 'O Agni of the Bharatas'. taking भारत as proper noun for the descendants of a king named Bharat. This is wrong as it is against the fundamental principles of the Vedic terminology as pointed out several times before.
